Was that a good trade, or just a lucky one?

A good trade can lose money. A bad one can make money. Every journal on the market measures the second thing and calls it analysis. Retrospeq measures the decision.

of your Friday afternoons lost money. Everything else won 54%.

Connect a broker and Retrospeq reads your history. Within about a minute it says something true about how you trade — and you filled in nothing to get it. That is the whole onboarding.

The problemOutcome ≠ decision

Two trades. Identical result. Only one was a good decision.

Your P&L cannot tell these apart, so a green week reads as validation even when you broke every rule you set — and a red week reads as failure even when you did everything right. Over a career, that teaches you the wrong lessons.

+1.8R
Held the plan
Risked 1.0% against a 1% cap. Stop left where it was planned. Conviction recorded before entry, so the judgement is on the record ahead of the result.
+1.8R
Broke the plan
Scaled to 4.2% against the same 1% cap and moved the stop twice. It worked anyway — this time. Retrospeq scores these differently, because they are not the same decision.
MethodThree parts

Ten seconds before a trade. Thirty at the end of the day.

01

Your broker says what happened

Trades import on their own, whether or not you remember to log them. We ask for a read-only credential that cannot place, modify or close an order — and reject one that can.

You say what you were thinking

Only the part your broker cannot see. Dots, pills and steppers — never a keyboard. If a field needs typing, it does not belong in front of a trade.

We say which of it works

Once there is enough of your own history to be sure, and not a trade before. Every comparison is against your own record — never against other traders.

The loopWhat is different

Most journals stop at the chart.

Finding something out about yourself is the easy half. Retrospeq turns it into a rule you can hold yourself to, then keeps checking whether it still holds — and tells you when it stops.

Measure

You record what you were thinking, before the outcome exists. The timestamp is the proof.

Find

A pattern clears the statistical bar — or it does not, and we say so.

Commit

You choose to make it a rule. It starts soft. Nothing is ever forced on you.

Hold

Adherence is counted honestly. Breaking a rule costs you no points — otherwise you would write soft rules and stop logging breaks.

Retire

When an edge decays we tell you, and help you let the rule go.

RestraintSaying nothing

We tell you when we don’t know.

For most of your first month Retrospeq will have nothing conclusive to say, and it will say exactly that — with a number attached, so you know what it is waiting for. We would rather stay quiet than dress up a pattern that has not earned it.

What your trades say

LimitsBy design

A discipline tool should not manufacture anxiety.

These are constraints we have committed to in the product itself, not preferences we might revisit when growth gets difficult.

Never blocks a trade
No alerts before entry, no “are you sure?”, no confirmation step. It shows you where you stand and then stays out of the way.
One notification a week
That is the entire outbound volume. No streak warnings, no re-engagement nudges, no “you haven’t logged in” email.
Never compared to others
Every baseline is your own history. Your data is not measured against other users, and there is no leaderboard.
Cannot touch your money
A read-only credential that cannot place, modify or close an order. We test the credential at connection and reject anything capable of trading.
Sitting out is fine
Your streak counts weeks you closed the loop, not days you traded. A week with no trades keeps it intact — a daily streak would push you to trade for the sake of it.
No ads. Ever.
You are the customer rather than the inventory. Nothing in the product is placed there by a third party.
PlansPrices unset

Three tiers. The numbers aren’t settled.

We would rather show you the shape of it now and get the pricing right later. Nothing below is a commitment, and the free tier is a real product rather than a countdown to a paywall.

AccessClosed beta

Built with a small group of traders first.

We are working with a handful of active traders before opening it up. If that sounds like you, ask for a place.

  • No card, and nothing to cancel.
  • Your broker stays disconnected until you choose otherwise.

What happens now

  1. 01A person reads it. The cohort is small, so these are gone through by hand rather than auto-accepted.
  2. 02If there is a place, you get one email with a link to set up an account. We are not fixing a date on that — it depends on how the current cohort is going.
  3. 03If there is not one yet, you stay on the list. You will not hear anything in the meantime.
  4. 04That is the whole sequence. No newsletter, no drip campaign, no “just checking in”.
